Spring is coming which means Summer is around the corner, I know it doesn’t feel like that with the parka and boots we’ve been wearing but it will be here before we know it!
I remember so many summers, dreading the idea of bearing more skin. I love summer! I especially love the clothes and being on the beach but NOT when I feel like I want to hide.
That to me was torture… (you’ll hear my full story in due time but want you to know I GET it!)
In order to not fear our bodies, to not “hate on” our bodies, especially in a bikini, we need to start prepping our bodies now and make some simple shifts that will have HUGE results!
I use prep because we as women go into this “all or nothing” mode. What does that do? It sets us up to fail and to gain back whatever we lose before we even get to enjoy it!

Growing up, I was labeled “Big Boned” told I had a big butt and was called thunder thigh. Not surprisingly, I started playing the comparison game with my friends and models on the covers of magazines. Then the poor body image and lack of self-esteem crept in that I closely tied to myself, my weight and my relationship to food. I developed an unhealthy relationship with food and used food for emotional support instead of viewing it for what it is. Not liking or being kind to what I saw in the mirror wasn’t helping my cause.
Over the years, I tried every diet and exercise program around. I ended up wreaking havoc on my insides which ultimately brought me to go back to school for holistic nutrition.
Sabotaging my body like that was the catalyst for me to get serious about transforming my relationship with food and with myself.
I discovered holistic nutrition, went on my first cleanse, and started figuring out what my body actually needed day to day to function at its optimal level and how to get to and maintain my ideal body weight.
The pinnacle? Coming second place in the INBF Best Body competition clad in nothing but a string bikini, a spray tan and clear hooker heels.
Today, I’m an Ideal Body Coach. I’m a certified holistic nutritionist accredited with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a certified life coach. I’m also a qualified fitness expert and style guru who has learned to LOVE my body.
